Food Banks

Appalachia United Methodist Church: Open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Serves the Appalachia area, but may help those who live nearby in emergencies. (276) 565-1014

Big Stone Gap Food Bank: Thirteen churches are involved in this food bank, which is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am until noon. Located past KFC in the old Haynes Grocery store building. Call the United Methodist Church for more info. (276) 523-0789

Bondtown Community Church: Those in emergency need may come once a month on either 2nd or 4th Thursday of the month. Located across from Litchfield Apartments. Open from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Pastor: Lacey Maine.

Church of God of Prophecy, Coeburn: Donates to the food bank that is operated by Friendship Baptist Church, but may help those in extreme need. Pastor: Samuel Hall. (276) 395-6889

Friendship Baptist Church: An emergency food bank that serves the residents of the Coeburn area. No specific hours, but contact the church at 395-7170 and arrangements will be made. May be able to deliver to persons in extreme need who do not have transportation. Pastor: Scott Powers. (276) 985-7170

Lighthouse Ministries: Open Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. (276) 328-1205 or (276) 328-2022

Second Harvest Food Bank of Pound: Open 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. Located in the old town hall building. Contact Jackie Gilliam. (276) 796-5062 or (276) 796-5544.

The Food Bank of Wise County: Located at 629 Kentucky Avenue in Norton. Serves Wise County and Norton persons who have no food bank in the area where they live. This is in conjunction with several area churches. Open from 10:00 am to 11:30am on Tuesdays and Fridays. (276) 679-FOOD

Stevens Church of God Food Bank: Located at Steven Church of God in Wise. Serves all of Wise County. Call Pastor Cliff Bowman for more information. (276) 328-5726.
